about advocacy
After experiencing harm, it's hard to know what to do next. An advocate can provide support throughout your healing process in a variety of ways.
If you have experienced sexual harm in an evangelical environment, an advocate can assist with:
emotional support
providing information on your rights and options
facilitating communication between you and other parties
virtual accompaniment to meetings related to the harm you experienced
referrals to legal aid, therapy, or other resources
amplifying your voice and needs
Ask us about what else we may be able to help you with!
Our advocate is a nationally credentialed victim advocate and adheres to the Code of Professional Ethics for Victim Service Providers.
*Advocates are not lawyers, mental health professionals, or investigators. If you are in immediate danger, you should contact your local emergency services.
meet the advocate
Noa (she/her/hers) is an advocate, survivor, and writer. She has worked in the field of advocacy for four years. As a survivor of sexual assault in an evangelical church and whistleblower, she recognizes the unique challenges that face survivors of religious and institutional abuse. Noa values care, inclusion, and empowerment, which she strives to embody personally and professionally.
After struggling to find resources when she was harmed, she knew there was a need for practical support for those abused in evangelical environments. Noa started survivors first to amplify survivors' voices and create a network of support and resources so that survivors would not have to navigate this trauma alone.
